01The problem

You’re paying for software that doesn’t talk to itself.

Most service business owners stitch together a website, a booking tool, a payment processor, and a calendar — one app at a time, one bill at a time. Then they spend the rest of the month making them play nice.

$150–250/mo
spent across Wix, Jobber, Stripe, and Calendly — before any of it talks to each other
4 logins
one for every tool, plus a separate flow for every customer touchpoint
8+ hours / wk
spent reconciling bookings, payments, reminders, and customer notes by hand
Zero handoff
when you want to switch, your data is locked across 4 different platforms

DIY tool stack: $150–250/month, set up by you. Mine: starts at $99/month, set up by me. Text messages, calendar sync, image hosting all baked in. Stripe charges 2.9% + 30¢ per payment — deducted by Stripe straight from the transaction. I never see it, don’t mark it up. 08The story

Why I built this.

A few years ago I went shopping for tools to put my own work online and ran straight into the upsells, the per-feature paywalls, the feeling that nothing in the box was actually finished. I’m a woodworker on the side (whiskysplinter.com). When the off-the-shelf tool doesn’t fit the cut, you build a jig. So I built one.

This isn’t my first build. Twenty years on the railroad as a signalman — three on the line, seven as a maintainer, ten running crews as a signal construction foreman. I spent most of those years working around software that didn’t quite fit — dispatch tools, timekeeping apps, scheduling boards. So when I built this, I built the version I always wanted.

A few pieces I couldn’t build myself: text messages, calendar sync, image hosting, transactional email. Those run on what the rest of the industry uses — Twilio, Google, Cloudinary, Resend. The cost of those services is baked into what you pay me. No per-text fees. No per-API-call charges. Generous usage limits with room to grow.

Tradespeople need two things: software that works, and a real person on the other end when it doesn’t. No tickets. No tier-1 support reading from a script. That’s the whole reason this exists.

09Common questions

Things people ask me first.

I already have a website (Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy).

Most of those collect contact-form submissions and call it a day. This takes real bookings, runs payments, syncs to your calendar, and sends customer reminders — all under your own domain. If you have a domain you like, we point it. The old site goes away.

I’m not technical. Can I actually run this?

I set it up. You learn the dashboard in a 30-minute walkthrough — recorded so you can rewatch. Day-to-day you’re glancing at bookings on your phone between jobs. Anything weird, you call or email me. No tickets, no support tiers.

Why not just use Jobber, Housecall Pro, or Square Appointments?

Those are good tools at what they do. None of them give you a real website on your own domain — you end up paying them plus a separate site plus hosting. I bundle the whole stack so you have one bill, one login, and one phone number when something needs changing.

What happens if I want to leave?

Your domain stays yours. Customer data exports clean — bookings, payments, contact info, the works. No exit fees, no holding it hostage. The 9-month minimum is just so I’m not eating setup costs on someone who bails in week three.

How fast can I launch?

5–10 business days from our first call to a live site. Most of that is me building; you spend maybe an hour total reviewing copy and confirming photos. If you’re in a rush for a specific date, tell me on the call.

I don’t have professional photos. Will my site look bad?

Phone photos are fine — most of the trades sites I admire are shot on a phone. I’ll work with what you have. The Done For You tier ($299/mo) also includes me gathering and editing photos.
